Chef Mirciny Moliviatis and Alyssa connected over their love for rescue dogs and great food. Now they are hosting an event together on Lake Atitlan to get to know more people who love these things as much as they do!
Mirciny has been named the Ambassador of Guatemala’s Gastronomic Culture and awarded Person of the Year by Guatemala’s Restaurant Gild Association “Tenedor de Oro” (“Golden Fork”). She’s also been the face of KitchenAid and Pepsi in Guatemala. Aside from her amazing skills in the kitchen, Mirciny has made it her mission to always lend a helping hand throughout her career. Her book “Viviendo La Receta” is a green book, and a tree was planted for every printed page. Mirciny has a deep love for animals and is always giving back to the four-legged community.
Alyssa is the founder of ethical fashion brand Hiptipico and a full-time Panajachel expat since 2011. Alyssa graduated from Georgetown University with a Masters in Latin American Studies and has lived in Costa Rica and Ecuador before moving to Guatemala. Alyssa is involved with a variety of local organization helping to promote sustainable development, eco-tourism and animal rescue missions. Alyssa hosts workshop and events at her lakefront property which is a sanctuary for more than 10 rescue dogs with profits going to a variety of social project in Guatemala.
